I am thinking this would be quite simialr to Sunbrellas fabric which apparently is very good .

Inside out is a newcomer to the performance fabric and it is great! It is fade and stain resistant, extremely heavy duty, chemical-free, pill-resistant, and made in the U.S.A. I find it to be much softer then Sunbrella fabric and looks more like an indoor upholstery fabric. A good way to think about it is that Sunbrella is outdoor fabric you can use indoors, Inside Out is indoor fabric you can use outdoors. I encourage you to consider it for your new uphostery!

I have a sample of this fabric and it is very soft, does it pill? fade? stain easy? I am thinking about buying fabric to re upholster my sofa

Inside Out is a maker of Performance Fabric, there are many content lines within the brand. The wearability is determined by the rub value, not the brand (this applies to any manufacturer). All man-made fabrics will pill over time. The rub value varies and that determines when you will see that wear begin to occur. Cheap fabrics are 100% Polyester, and we all know that pills as it ages. The more natural fiber content as a rule, the less the pilling. However natural fibers tend to be more costly than synthetics.

Performance fabrics do not necessarily last longer, that's a myth. They are basically like having a Scotchguarded fabric except that instead of being topically applied, the chemicals are infused in the fabric during the production of the materia;. They are easy to clean, and in the case of SunBrella they have a UV inhibitor added. Durability is altogether different.

I have a custom sofa in rolla lace. I have submitted a claim to Taylor King bc of the pilling and fuzzy. It has not held up to its claim.

I purchased a sofa in InsideOut Offwhite one year ago and it’s pilling and just looks sloppy and fuzzy in less than one year. We do not have kids or pets and travel often, so use has been light.

We have had a sofa and loveseat made from inside out fabric and I would not recommend it. We bought it two years ago and I'm actually thinking of replacing it. The fabric if fuzzy and looks old already.

Same problem with ours. 3 years old and I want to throw it out.

We have sofas from Moss Home in Rollo Zinc. We have two young kids and a cat and have had our sofas for almost 5 years and they still look great - despite the daily wear and tear. We don’t eat meals on our sofas but my kids so drink milk, apple sauce pouches, etc. and it all cleans up perfectly. I even took off the bench seat covers and put them in the washing machine after my child got sick (ugh) and they came out very nice. I am getting ready to purchase slipcovers for them in UV Linen because I want to change the color, but overall I have been very happy with the fabric. The fabric is quite an investment.
