The tile floor is Travertine Noce, also sometimes called Walnut Travertine. You will find variations of travertine on the market. This particular variety is imperfect, brushed with a chiselled edge. This style shows the pits and variation of the natural stone, which adds character to the floor. The tiles are partially honed leaving a slight shadow on the tile, giving an aged and slightly structured but smooth finish. These tiles are often "chiselled" meaning that their edges are hammered to give an enhanced antique look.You can also find travertine in a smooth or polished finish. In other environments, we may choose to use a polished travertine to compliment a more contemporary space for example.
