I have had good luck with Kohler. My kitchen faucet is several years old and all my bathroom faucets are Kohler -- no issues with any. I also like the functionality of the sprayer, because the hard spray stays turned on until you turn it off. Many Hans Grohe models required that you hold the spray button down to keep it on (not sure if that is still the case.)

Please tell us your budget. The price of a Dornbracht that Rita recommended will take your breath away. Kohler faucets are very good, but their faucet prices depend on whether the faucet is made in China for Kohler, or in the Kohler factory in Wisconsin. For example, the Artifacts faucet, which I recommend, is about $450 in polished chrome. You can find Kohler faucets at Home Depot in the $150-250 range. Dornbracht faucets start at about $1,000, but are mostly $1,600 and up.

Waterstone, California Faucets, KWC, Blanco.... it all depends on if your budget is $250 or $2500.

In my experience, faucets can be wildly overpriced. Get a domestic faucet (so that you know you can get parts easily in the future if you need any), buy from a major, namebrand manufacturer with a limited lifetime warranty. spend a couple hundred bucks, and don't worry about it. When my 10 year old Moen kitchen faucet developed a tiny drip, I called Customer Service and they Fedexed me an identical replacement for free. It took me less than an hour to remove the old one and install the new one.

P.S.: to get a good price on a quality faucet, checkout a reliable online vendor, like build.com.

Lol, I’d prefer to keep it @$500 or less if I can get quality at that price point. I don‘t need a work of art...just want a nicely made faucet. I am going to check out each manufacturer listed, and thank you for the tip on domestic vs foreign made faucets.

I second the Koehler Artifacts line. Have it in my kitchen, and at the master bathroom sinks. Have them for two years now. Not one problem. I particularly like the pulldown at the kitchen sink. Great dual function sprayer, which locks securely in place. Made in the USA. They’re pretty, too! Got them at Ferguson’s In Greenvale, on Long Island.

I am a bit surprised as Delta does have the lifetime guarantee/warranty. I had an experience several years ago where we had to replace our water heater and apparently when that was done, the pressure was not adjusted and it blew out a piece from the Delta faucet I had in the kitchen. The faucet was probably about 10 years old at that time. I called Delta to see if we could get the piece , and as the faucet was discontinued and they did not have the required piece available, TO MY DELIGHT, they told me to select another faucet and it was fed-exed to me from their Franklin Tennessee location. Yes of course I had to pay a plumber to install but I was super impressed. Since then, I have only entertained Delta and Moen. Made in USA and they do honor their products. I have had no issues with any Delta or Moen.

The lifetime guarantee is great, but there is somthing to be said for not having a problem over the course of the years as well. If your faucet breaks, chances are the parts involved are inexpensive, the damage a leak causes could be quite dear.

PS I have Delta faucets myself.

I got Brizo, it's Delta's "luxury/fashion brand" with the same lifetime warranty.

I also highly recommend the Kohler Artifacts faucet. I have the shorter version, the K-99261 at my prep sink, which I purchased from Amazon Warehouse. Among many other items from AW, I also purchased a Kohler Whitehaven sink and Blanco faucet. No problems with any and saved $$$$. I only purchase if it is marked 'like new' or 'very good'.

I have Newport Brass bathroom faucets that were original to the house and are about 15 years old. I agree they are solidly built, but they did need the ceramic cartridges replaced recently. Newport Brass sent me free replacements, but I'm pointing out that no faucet lasts forever. And that is why you want to be sure parts will be easily available in the future. In the case of ceramic cartridges, there are many faucets that need a specific replacement and not some generic item from a big box store. That's why I was glad I could get a free replacement quickly from a domestic company, rather than trying to track down a part for a trendy $2000 faucet made in some small town in Italy.

i've also experienced great customer service from Delta. Far better than Kohler.

It hasn't been installed yet, but I purchased it because of its glowing reviews and liking it when I used it in a plumbing showroom. I purchased the Kohler Artifacts faucet brand new in the box on eBay from a woman who had purchased two and then changed her mind. I bought mine for $225 and I'm so excited to use it! Our last faucet was a Delta and we had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. In a previous house we had a Price Pfister and while the style and look I liked, the quality was terrible and I don't think it even lasted 2 years.

Whenever anyone mentions Waterstone on this forum, they always omit the price, though most posts mention the price of the faucet they are recommending. But for Waterstone, it is always left to "if you have to ask you can't afford it".

Joseph Corlett - I wanted people to know that Waterstone faucets start at $1200, but most are $1700+.

Meanwhile... a pretty decent stainless steel dishwasher can be purchased for $800 AND will actually wash the dishes instead of just sitting there.

Yes, kitchen faucets are ridiculously overpriced.

My neighbor just finished her kitchen reno and used waterstone faucets. I had never heard of the brand but boy were they gorgeous!! I would have to say they were the most beautiful faucets i‘ve seen. When I looked them up tho, the price had me floored...$1800!!!

Another vote for Moen for both the kitchen and the bathroom, for the quality, customer service, and the price point.

The Moen tub spout we originally installed 20 years ago started leaking last year just before we moved into our new house, and the last time that happened, about 10 years ago, we phoned Moen customer service for a new shower valve cartridge, which they sent out cheerfully and for free. I had my doubts nine years later, but my husband called them, and sure enough, happily and for free, another shower cartridge was sent out immediately.

I’ve had incredible luck with a Kohler kitchen faucet K-9959-VS worth every penny~ loved it so much that I’ve purchasing another one for my new home.
