If I were you I'd cover over that soil with plastic wrap to try to help prevent it from drying out fast.

I understand you may have selected that soil for light weight and good drainage but it doesn't look like it is very good at holding moisture.

Half the health of the plant is in the roots, and that often shows up in the appearance of the leaves.

I also suspect the air may be a little cooler than optimal and a bit desiccating. Unfortunately there's not much you can do about that other than to put them inside a big enclosure to help hold some heat and humidity.

Trying to grow citrus indoors as a house plant is definitely not for the beginner. (there's a long list of things that need to be considered, that are not intuitively obvious, and it takes some experience)

No need for plastic wrap, I water/fertlize lavishly every 8 days and its fine

You might try tying the scion to a stake to make it upright.

I might do the halfway option it sooner, why wait I'm actively growing and can point lights to help coax it. I can do a root inspection/check medium breakdown at the same time

Did you happen to get your Miho at Logee's by chance? My miho came from them and it was the most misshapen tree I think I have ever seen. I cut the lopsided portion off and selected a new central lead (and am light stress training it vertically) in order to correct the shape and it seems to be doing fine now

The medium is very loose and coincidentally it was day 8 for watering. So I moved the rootstock over so it now leans and kind of split the distance on the overall scion lean, then watered well and tamped slightly, went fairly easily. Now I have to see what the new growth does, hopefully get something somewhat vertical

Well he's settled in a bit, still a bit crooked but putting out new growth and a bit more attractive
