Not a pro either but I’m wondering if you can move some of the things you have into your garage for storage/quick access (brooms, step ladder, etc.) Also, why all the extension cords? - what are they connected to?

iheartsix yes usually the step ladder isn’t in there and the extension cord is for washer dreyer and cordless vacuum charger. II like the cordless in there for quick grab and use

This is something I remembered for a small-space laundry room. In this case, I think a closet was converted to a laundry room. Looks like you have a bit more space, but maybe this could help with an idea for above the washer/dryer.

It looks like you prefer to have the right tool for the job, so you have lots of tools. :) I think that your storage pieces (hooks, wall hanger, etc...) are too small for the things they are holding. See if you can find a way to increase the space between hooks, get a larger rack for next to the light switch so that the things on the rack are inside the rack and not spilling over. Do you use those cabinets for storage or for things you use frequently? You shouldn't stress over this, I can see you have a baby and that means lots of work. But if you are in the mood to decorate as well as rearrange, try to add your favorite color, maybe in a way that defines an area for coats, an area for detergent storage, etc...And get hooks that are identical, maybe in the favorite color.

A local closet company can do wonders with that laundry room. If you call them, some will come over and give you a layout with quotes.

I would remove the low cabinets to the right when you walk in & store hanging items on hooks vertically up the wall.

Remove wire above washer dryer and put shelves with matching baskets or cabinets.

Any chance you could covert those swing doors to pocket doors? That would free up a ton of wall space and give you more room to play with.

You’ve got space, but everything is spread out. Use vertical space and rid yourself of extraneous objects. Put things of like kind together, ironing board and iron as an example. Line up the backpacks on one wall, stagger if necessary. What’s in the cabinets? I’ll wager this could be organized with plastic see through bins. Importantly, don’t assume everything needs to be in that room.

Maybe it's me but I'm not seeing much chaos. Looks as if you've got a place for everything and everything is easy to access and put away. Can you identify exactly what's not working for you in this space? (e.g. Is it the visibility of things?) What's working?

How would you define "inviting" for this space? I mean, it's meant to be a mudroom/laundry room, not a lounge. (Not saying this snarkily at all - really trying to get you thinking about the vibe of the space.) Would adding colour on the wall make it more inviting to you? Chloebud's idea of similar baskets is a good one - sometimes repeating a storage solution makes for a more cohesive decor. If you move the cabinets above the appliances, is the space as functional for you?
