Do induction levels change based on power in the same HOB

So I have a question, I'm looking at the Miele Induction Range, I love everything but the fact there are only 9-12 levels. Which raises the question since each burner is a different wattage can you get more granularity by moving between burners. I.e. is level 7 on a 2350 watt burner the same as level 7 on a 1250 watt burner.

Thanks

Robert

no.

If it were linear, which I think it isn't, 7 on a 2350w hob would be 1645 and 875 on the smaller.

IIRC, Miele has the option to set the hobs to 17 levels through a setup options thing.

Sadly on the range that is not true no extended level programming which truly bums me out. :(. Does anyone know definitively how this works at least on a Miel.

I know from comments a Wolf representative made here that their power settings are non-linear, with XgreaterX finer granularity at the low end. It would not make sense for a "1" to be the same power level on a more powerful hob as on a less powerful hob. Depending on programming and design, a "1" on each hob may be the same fraction of full power. There are ways you might check this at a store with a working model, one of which would require little technology beyond a measuring cup, timer, and a thermometer (preferably digital with remote probe).
