Hello! Do you have a photo of your space to share to get a better idea of what you're working with?

Here is the space-it's the kids bathroom and we are all looking forward to it being useable!!!!

And the base. The bathroom is pretty tiny but it's what we have to work with!!

I'm not sure a curved rod will work, but you could always use a round/oval rod that is made for footed tubs with showers. They attach to the ceiling.

Do you plan to use the tub filler at the base of the unit? I see a huge leak potential onto the floor. I would recommend the glass doors so you don't have water over the floor.

I know- I'm concerned about the water leaking too. Ironically, I had wanted a base much like the one in the pic creeser posted above. However, we were at the end of an entire house renovation and addition. We were out of time and budget. Our kids are fairly tidy, especially our daughter. We just have to make this work. I was hoping to avoid the rods that hang from ceiling as then you need 2 curtains....was hoping a curved rod may work. Then a long enough curtain weighted at the bottom to help keep it inside the lip. Not ideal I know.

Oh and the kids take showers at this point. I can't see using the tub filler beyond filling a bucket for cleaning. If they want a bath they can use our tub.

I would remove the filler and cap the line off with a shark bite cap and you could always remove the cap when you need it. I would also silicone the corner of the tile after you grout. In addition to that at the base I would get the plastic corners and attach them at each corner. The only feasible option that you could use would be black iron pipe and use 45's to make the angle you need with unions and pipe and paint the pipe what ever color you want. They make a threaded wall plate that you can mount to the wall and the pipe will thread in that.

I don't think a curved rod will work because of the squared base. I think creeser has the right idea.

Did you ever find a solution? Our new shower in our tiny bathroom/laundry room looks exactly like yours, and I'm looking for the same thing. Not enough space for glass doors in ours.

I don't really understand that -- most of these bases have matching doors that fit them exactly, so if you can fit the base, you can fit the specialized doors... ??

So we had done an extensive home renovation and to keep costs down some choices we made were interesting...the base for the shower my husband got was essentially free. But it left us with what to do about the rest of it. In the end we bought the surround to go with it. We have been pleased with it.

Glad you found a solution that worked for you, but darn, I was hoping you'd found a good rod, because I am having the exact same issue now. Not just because I want to save money (although I do) but I really, really hate glass shower enclosures. A lot. :/

Yeah keeping the 3 sides clean is quite the treat!!! But it’s worked out great.

how much did the setup cost?

My husband got the surround from Lowe’s for $10 because the box was ripped opened and in clearance...but the ticket price was $360. The base was also from Lowe’s but he cannot recall the price but said around $100.

its all held up very well with our 2 teens putting it through lots of use!

I also hate glass doors. Not only are they a nuisance to clean; when the rubber door gasket wears out - and it will - you can’t just replace the gasket. You have to replace the whole door structure. A neo-angle shower is the only thing that will work in my L-shaped, dormered bath with “charming” slanted ceilings. So I’m ordering a neo-angle shower curtain rod from Amazon. It has a center support that attaches to the ceiling. Costs about $114.
