I would think so. But just to be sure, make sure that wherever you order it from offers free returns!

I found this one which is the same manufacturer as the green one that I put next to the door, also in “rust” with some black in it.

I have this brass lamp that I inherited from my grandmother. My daughter really wants it for her room but would probably give it up for a cheap unicorn lamp or something.

I like the lamp but is the proportion ok? or is it too big.

I can give it to my daughter and find something better if it doesn't work.

It looks too tall and if you do anything on top of these cabinets, symmetry will be important. Do you have an outlet on the other side? If you do a lamp, you need two. :) Give daughter lamp.

I think that the lamp works; I also think the wall hangings that you posted are neat but again, I think they would be "too much"

The rug with the black could work. Trick with rugs. If possible, order the smallest size. You will see all the colors and then it is an easy return.

There is NOT an outlet on the other side, which is definitely a bummer. I really like the lighting now in that location at night time, even though I'm not sold on the lamp itself. So much more pleasant than the overhead lighting! It will be hard to give that up! Can buy something new for myself and give the hand-me-down to my child though ;)

I don't think either of them come significantly smaller than 4x6, at least not smaller enough to offset the knowledge that you would definitely need to return if you knowingly bought the wrong size vs possibly need to return if you bought the correct size.

Thinking about the canvases. Want something in that space and was thinking about antique family photos framed nicely, but nervous about arranging it so that it doesn't look too busy. The canvases are really the right size (inside dimension of the frame is 16"wx33"h and canvases are 14"wx30"h), and not too pricey. I'm hoping they look "custom"..you can tell I like that word..But it makes me sound like a jerk but I've never actually bought art before! Always inherited stuff or had gifts. Buying "cheap" art is weirding me out a bit!

A quick hijack of the conversation to say give her the lamp. This is how you teach young children to value quality, and honor family connections, instead of cheap unicorn thingamajigs : ) .

Speaking of monkey lamps, what about this guy? Needs to be rewired and needs a new shade..took it for my kids but they found it too creepy ;)

It's only creepy when it's looking at them in the dark in their bedroom...they are fine with it in the hall :)

Bought a new pink crystal finial and will give the brass lamp to my daughter.

Now to find a shade for Mr. Monkey!

I think the 11" height is good cause I don't want to cover his guitar, and no wider because that table is pretty narrow.

Do the last pair have some blue to tie in with your fabulous wallpaper in the adjacent room? No matter if not, but thought it might be good if they did!

Yes, the monkey lamp is great! BTW, the items on the chests do not have to match or be symmetrical in height -- more like equal in mass, to look right -- so I think the bowl alone would be a nice pairing with the lamp, and the chest top would not be crowded.

Yes, the plant is just there before I took the lamp out because I didn’t like looking at it empty.

So the story of the monkey lamp...

My grandmother, after having led the life of a traditional Southern stay-at-home-wife and mother until her kids grew up and went to college, moved in her 60s to Southwest Florida and began selling real estate. She sold a ton of real estate in the up-and-coming areas of Sanibel and Captiva Islands in the 1980s and 90s. She interacted with a lot of very wealthy people, who sometimes asked her to do odd tasks, like empty their houses of their various possessions at the time of a sale. Being a natural thrifter, she kept what she liked, and the monkey lamp was one that she kept.

When she passed away and my father and aunts went through the house, my son was into animals and I thought he might like a monkey lamp for his room. But at age 3, when seeing the lamp, he decided he did not like the idea of it staring at him in the dark. So in the basement it sat.

The monkey lamp needed rewiring, which turned into a bigger project than I anticipated. The hole in the base was very small and the threads of the pipe were corroded. It was a project. I enlisted the help of my husband, who kept asking "why are we going through all this effort for this ugly monkey lamp anyway?!?" But I persevered.

Finally, the monkey lamp is up. I couldn't find a pagoda shade the right color and size, but this one will do for now. I'm going to keep looking though.

Afterwards, I looked it up, and found an identical copy sold for $545 on ebay in 2013..So there, husband!

Lee, her stairway comes right down toward the front door so a round table isn't an option, at least from what I can recall back when. As to the orange rug, the orange is better but you need some black in the rug.

I know Flo won’t like this rug but I kind of do. Leaning toward keeping it and seeing if it bugs me. Can always make diff pillows anyway.

I like the way this rug has made friends with the tile floor. Enough orange to work with the dragon pillow-- oh and very good with the new gold pillow. The tableau on the bench today kills me.
