Hi guys, looking for some design help. We have a bit of an issue with lack of seating due to the tv being mounted on the adjacent wall to the fireplace. What we want to do is put the tv above the fireplace, remove the fireplace and replace with an electric/gas fireplace, add some built ins on each side of the fireplace, remove the false walls above the fireplace, at least that's what we think is a good option. However, as you can see, we are limited somewhat by the windows above the fireplace. We would like to keep them, but it might limit what we can do. We are not sure if a tv that is only 12 inches or so above an electric fireplace, which is also probably only 10-12 inches from the floor is a good idea. How high does a fireplace (think a short and wide electric fireplace) have to be from the ground, and how much space is needed to separate a tv and the fireplace?

Any thoughts on how we should handle this dilemma?
