With that floor sample I would go with a nearly solid quartz. Or flip it & do the flooring (a similar quartz) for the countertop & a very subtle/solid floor.

Yes, you've kind of boxed yourself into a simple countertop by going with that floor. You don't have to do white though, it seems like grey would work too.

By picking elements one at a time may work with your learning style, its way better to make a sample board combining all elements [backsplash,countertop and so on] so you don't get yourself in a bind at the end. In fact do three boards to give yourself choices.

Something along this line with a bit of grey from your flooring colors and a very light and simple pattern:

Thanks all! That's kind of what I'd figured. Maybe I'll try my beloved floor tile in the bathroom instead and head back to the drawing board for the kitchen counter and floor. Maybe something warmer. Only thing we're set on is cabinets.

Don’t get pure pure white quartz - get something with a tiny bit of speckle. It didn’t even have to be noticeable from a distance. We have pure white and it shows everything - every teensy tiny crumb, every steak from wiping it down...it is very difficult to make it look clean
