Small Bedroom Help

My current apartment bedroom is approximately 9x9, and because of its size, I can't seem to find any ways to make it feel bigger while keeping most of what I currently own. I look at small bedroom inspirations, but none of which match the closest to my current bedroom situation. Pictured below, I tried my best to replicate what I currently have and where.

(the circle is a cat post, the sofa is a computer chair, and the small bookcase beside the desk is where my desktop sits on, the bottom right doors are my closet doors)

I have thought of getting rid of the bookcase in between the smaller one and the night table, and changing the computer desk into one that isn't as wide as my current one. I don't usually struggle with interior design and whatnot, but it seems I just cannot decide on what to do with my room. If it helps, I'm trying to turn it into a neat modern bedroom + computer area (walls are already painted gray). Oh, and I thought of moving my dresser into my closet, but that hasn't been done or attempted yet.

Here's a dream bedroom I made long ago, doesn't use a small room or small furniture so scratch that idea.

It would help if we have pictures of the room and your furniture. Also, tell us what furniture absolutely has to stay in the room and what can go. And do you have a single bed or double?

Pics and sizes of furniture would help. For starters,how high are the bookshelves? Also,do you need more storage?

Do you absolutely need a desk and a desktop computer?

Do all these things have to stay IN the bedroom?

Would you consider a fold-away desk?

Your desk chair looks large ... could you downsize it?

Or, could you keep the oversized chair, get rid of the desk, use a lap desk ... but maintain some office storage space on the bookshelves?

Could you loft the bed and place storage or the desk underneath?

Obviously the first step with books is culling those that aren't special to you ... could you then build a near-the-ceiling bookshelf?

Still thinking near the ceiling ... could you get rid of the cat post and give the cats a wall playground?

Alright so, the desktop is my gaming computer, and my bedroom is the only place it can go unfortunately. Since we are only renting this apartment, I cannot add too many things to the walls like multiple shelves and whatnot. Or maybe I can, but I choose not to unless it was set in a house rather than this place. The television will stay where it currently is, so will the router. The gaming chair also stays. Night table could be swapped out, preferably to one also with a drawer, even if it's not as wide.

I was thinking of getting a computer desk that can still withstand my two monitors, but not be as wide as my current one, but I still have to look some up.

The industrial bookcase can leave, and the dresser might be able to fit in the closet. Keyword, might. I still have to measure the closet and dresser to see what can be done. The closet is very small, so hanging my clothes in there would be out of the question. The cat post is just for this one cat, so really I can just move it out of the room or something, it's not the thing that takes up the most space. I have storage bins and even a captain bed bedframe (4 drawers on both sides) so no solutions needed for that nor for organizational stuff. I have taken advice from the Mari Kondo books regarding that stuff, whole other story. The shelf of figurines could probably get rid of, but then I'd need to figure out where to put those figurines (unless I keep a few select ones and sell the rest). Also pay no mind to the hanging wind chime, I've packed it away.

Could one of the bookshelves be stacked on top of the dresser?

Could the white book shelf be moved over next to the bed to act as nightstand AND bookshelf?

Are you utilizing under-bed storage?

Have you already de-cluttered?

Could you get rid of the chair /sit on the bed for gaming? Might require re-arranging.

The dresser is about 4ft in height so not really no. The white bookshelf has my desktop tower thing on it, otherwise I'd have gotten rid of it already. I have no need for under bed storage, as I said it's a captain's bed with 8 drawers. Captain beds have no gap between the floor and bed frame. I have recently de-cluttered but need to once more, though that isn't what's bothering me right now. I already stated I will not get rid of the chair. Sitting on the bed for gaming would be too high up and be bad for my back, so that would be a very bad idea and not at all ergonomic. Plus, it would ruin my mattress twice as fast and leave a dent on it (I've been there before when I had laptops).

No getting rid of things I specifically said I won't get rid of. I'm really just in need of a new desk solution and a style for my room.

I'm feeling this is impossible. Especially due to the fact I'm in an apartment.

Like you can see from my pictures, my room is absurdly small. Only thing that can go on the walls and not make it feel claustrophobic are frames and whatnot.
