need quick answer - does this need addressed or is it normal?

The carpet went down on the steps last week. They had been covered for months so I didn't notice until the other day that the white trim that runs along the wall down the steps and the risers are both just a standard white and are not the same color as the trim (which is Westhighland White from Sherwin Williams - a creamy off white). No one else has noticed this and I think my husband thinks I am being a little silly. The painters are at the house today doing final touch-ups and I wonder if this is something that needs painted or if that is just the way it is usually done. Most people would never notice and you probably have to to be looking for it, but it did jump out at me.

The only pic that really shows the painted trim meeting the "white" is the third pic where the bottom section of steps meets the trim on the landing. My pics aren't showing it too well.

Opinions appreciated!

If the painters are there for touch-up, and this really bothers you, why not just have the painters touch up in the stair area?

It would bug me, I'd have them paint it all the same.

I, too, would mention it. They're there, so why not, and it won't take them much time to rectify.

They need to paint all the trim. They know that, and won't be surprised when you point it out to them.

Faron it's a regional speech pattern. I know, drives me nuts, too. In certain parts of the country it's normal. Called preposition drop.

A civilized society also needs to maintain standards. This includes how its people communicate with each other.

But it is true that we often type in phrases rather than complete sentences when communicating on electronic devices. This can create some non-standard word usage.
