Too matchy-matchy?

Last year I renovated my master bathroom. The original vanity/sink was actually in the carpeted bedroom; there was a small door that led to the potty and shower. The problem, if you'd call it that, is that I love how it turned out. Now I want to do the "kids'" bathroom and I can't find anything that I like better than the new masterbath. (If I had an unlimited budget, I'm sure I could fall in love all over again, but since I really like this combination, should I mess with success? The other bathroom is very different, a long formica (buy-bye) countertop with 2 sinks takes up the entire righthand wall of the room. On the left is a combo sink/shower, which I plan to replace with a slightly large tub topped with glass doors like those pictured in the new bathroom. A wall (with water supply) separates the far end of the tub from the potty. A whole-wall mirror tops the vanity wall and I can't imagine what to do as far as replacing the vanity (cabinetry? vanities? medicine chests, etc.) btw, the tile is different sizes but all is white with a faint marbling effect which I thought would reduce the appearance of grime. (It works.)

Is it a design sin to use the same tiles and fixtures in a 2nd bathroom?

I see no reason not to use the same tiles/fixtures in another bathroom. The floral insert, however, is very taste specific. I would not recommend it be repeated.

Right you are! I'm looking for a different picture for the tile. (The process was amazingly simple and not too costly.) A high resolution, public domain photo is emailed to the tile-artist. She/he does a photo transfer in varying sizes of tile and prints it on tile. It gets used daily and looks perfect. (It helps that the rose has a dewy effect already. Looking for a different piece of art for that wall will be a pleasant way to kill some winter time.

It's not a sin to repeat the same bathroom design, however it might take away from the specialness of the master.

I suggest you change it up a bit in the kids bathroom for a few reasons. The first is that with that small subway tile you have A LOT of grout lines. Kids aren't kind to bathrooms and keeping them clean is more of a challenge, so go for the larger tile. You didn't say if the tile was marble or a marble look, but i wouldn't put real marble in a kids bathroom.

Also, I can tell you really love the rose design but....well its pretty polarizing. I think if you ever go to sell it could really turn off buyers so repeating it in a kids bathroom (or any other design) is not recommended. Personally i think it's taking away from the beauty of the other design elements and doesn't relate to anything else in the room.

I think repeating is a good idea, especially if your house is smaller. My parents downsized and moved into a home they had previously rented out (2 story to 1 story). When they refreshed it, they used the same flooring, cabinets, and countertops in both bathrooms and the kitchen. It made everything simple and harmonious, and probably saved them money also. I will be refreshing my own home within the next year and plan to do the same.

I think it’s fine to use the same tile and fixtures but I wouldn’t use a decorative insert. I love the shower door and would appreciate knowing the brand. Thank you.
