Start with some ideabooks to show us what kind of room you'd like this to be. Are all the cream leather seats leaving? Are you upgrading the mix of casegoods we see here? What stays and what goes?

The cream leather furniture goes because of a cat scratching it, The drapes, rug and paint can all be changed. Would like to keep my navy base lamps. Am looking for a cozy, warm room that does not look like a hodgepodge of stuff. Want it more inviting and clean looking, this room is on north side of house with a 12 ft x 5 ft window.

Small things like mantle and knick knacks can all go.

You could try using the Houzz shopping feature that lets you see a furniture piece in your room.

Always go with a neutral - Grey, White, Beige, Black, Brow Leather (distressed is nice) - or - Navy is the "most" color you should consider. Then you can "dress" it up with pillows and throws, which can be changed later when your tastes or style changes.

What colour would you like? It sounds as if you're open to changing practically everything in the room. You can develop your room's scheme around your sofa if you'd like and while some colours might limit your palette range, they're not impossible. Deco's idea of starting an ideabook is a great one.

If fireplace brick blends with this, and "chrome nailheads" ok with navy lamp you like ... this color, or the chair itself... :)

A grey ok with your camel chair? are you keeping it,,, I sorta hope. If paint stays you could add more camel, or blonde type wood pieces?

I found this image that I kind of like, maybe a little boring but it is soothing. Think drapes have to go and modernize them with rods at ceiling height and with the soft folds and not drapes

How many do you need to seat for TV watching daily? Consider a reversible chaise sofa and one chair or a 3-seat sofa and two chairs. If you're up for painting, then the new fabrics and rug will need to be the foundation for your paint color. Sometimes just priming the walls will give you a fresh perspective on what you want. That's a good first step to thinking differently about your room. Any ideabooks yet?
