Ditto ditto, it could be that that's what I have. However, in all the years I've lived here I've never tired of it.

What style house? Path straight or curved? DIY or pro? Budget? Too little info to really judge. Choose whichever you prefer in your setting and for your skill level if it is DIY. I’d pro, herringbone is likely more expensive because it requires quite a bit of cutting, and layout can be a bit more difficult.

However, more important than the pattern is the path width. Make it wide enough for two people to walk abreast. Be sure you give it a proper base and edge restraint so that it remains stable.

Herringbone or running bond for a walk. Running bond in the direction of travel kind of "pulls" you down the path. Herringbone slows you down a bit, visually. I wouldn't do basketweave for several reasons.
