They look good. I am under the impression that cannas are easy from seed, but I haven't done it myself.

I've read mixed opinions about it. Some people complain of germination issues. I did soak these for about 24 hours but I didn't scarify them or anything else.

Those look fantastic! Please come back and update us as they grow! I can't wait to see what kind of blooms they produce.

But my prediction is you may end up with oranges and pinks too. Seed genetics being what they are...though this may be stabilized, we'll just have to wait till July and see ;)

We got everyone potted into 3&4 inch pots this weekend. I’m running out of room under the grow lights haha

Most of the stuff will go out to the greenhouse in a few weeks.

They look great, you have very even germination and they'll grow fast now. I found a few seed pods of what I think were 'Mango' and tried just soaking them but no luck. You've inspired me to keep trying so I'll scarify them today and let them soak a little longer.

Thanks! I’ll plant most of them around the yard and in a couple of containers. I’ll also give a few away to some relatives and a friend of mine.

When I grew cannas in Northern CA - I found the best way to germinate them was to twirl in the food processor for a few seconds. Sounds horrible but it worked every time. Just a short burst - soak over night and they germinate in a few days or so. put a few of the seeds between wet - damp paper towels and you can see their progress. I grew tons of them this way. Good luck. Now that I am back in Seattle, they grow but never bloom in this climate - but I miss them every summer. But, I now can grow tons of hydrangeas - good trade for me.

We finally got everything transplanted this past Sunday. We got delayed by a week of vacation. I did give some of the plants away, but we put the rest of them in pots and in a large bed that tends to stay damp a lot of the time. I didn't bother to take photos, I was a little lazy.

My seedlings surprised me. They weren't a mango color but instead all are pink! I forget where I picked up the seed, I'm pretty sure they're from a gardening friend I visited and I bet I was convinced I needed to add some more respectable colors rather than the bright reds and oranges that I usually get fixated on.

They're nice though. Thanks for inspiring me to start the seeds
