do the finials push or screw on? I want to cut 3 ft off of the rod

    the finials go over the rod and attach with a set screw.

    Hi

    Sorry I did not see the part about cutting the rod to 84". You have another option buy the 96" and then cut. Both rods come in two pieces so you must cut from outer ends to keep a good joint at the splice. You cover the rods with masking tape where you make the cut and the finial will cover a crooked cut if the cut is not perfectly straight.
