Backsplash Dilemma

Need advice for the backsplash. We have white cabinets, white silestone counter tops and I have selected backsplash as “Glitz value” from Emser. We also have open shelving near the cook top as shown in the pictures.

Our initial thought was to put the black splash around the perimeter and also to the cook top wall all the way to the ceiling which covers the open shelving area. I’m not sure if this is going to look too busy.

Need suggestions and help in determining the backsplash area.

Below is additional information of the kitchen selections:

Cabinets - Shaker style white cabinets
Island counter top - Silestone Calacutta gold
Perimeter counter top - Silestone white Zues
Back splash - Emser Glitz value
Ceiling height - 11 ft

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Well I love those who are unafraid to make a statement! Go you!

However, I'm no use at all when it comes to the question of "too busy"...Do you mean to the ceiling JUST behind the stove top or to the ceiling behind the shelves, too?

Thank you so much for taking time to read my post and responding.

Black splash to the ceiling behind the shelves too. Since the shelves are in white I think it’s going to balance out. But I’m having hard time visualizing this.

I like these tiles a lot, I love that it’s different and ties in the black island! Hopefully the Pros will comment with their advice. I’d love to see what you go with! we’re building a home with the same color combination and similar counters. I haven’t picked a backsplash either! Congrats, your kitchen is beautiful

Thanks SJ. I’ll keep you posted on what we decide.

    Thanks a lot.

I liked the random pattern better than laying out symmetrically. I'm now more inclined to just do the backsplash behind the stove top.

I tried using Emser "Visualizer" that they have on their website but I don't think we can upload our own pictures.

Do you know of any app or website that provides us an option to upload our own pictures for visualization?

I like your choices, but do you mean tiling the whole wall (above the shelves?) I think, that might be too much of a good thing.

Initially, I was thinking of the whole wall but I might not do that.

I was able to modify the pictures to show the three different options that I’m thinking. Let me know what looks best.

I would go with a different tile completely. You kitchen is so beautiful & I feel like putting polka dots as a backsplash is going to kill it. I would go up under the hood & all the way over from the hood bottom.

Def not number one with your chosen tile...it's way too much imho.
