Well, you already know the most important part -- LVP scratches easily!!! I would carefully examine any wheels/rollers that are in contact with the floor, which is where some issues may occur. I was shopping for a new vacuum last year, but was short on money (built a house), so opted to use a shop vac, which had been sitting around unused. I bought the floor brush below to vacuum my LVP -- it has been perfect -- very soft and does a great job! When shopping, I had been strongly leaning toward Miele.

Thank you simmtalker. Yes, I have protectors for all furniture! Idont think I want to drag our heavy shop vac around but it’ll work until i make a decision. I’ve read great reviews about Miele. We will only have carpeted steps and small hall so i can useour current vacuum forthzt area. Just wanna lightweight good vacuum for vinyl Plank.

I'm also interested to learn what vacuum is good for LVP. We prefer an upright and will have lots of hair to pick up -- dog hair and my daughters' long hair. Thanks for recs!

The features I find handy are ....no cord to drag around...easy to empty dust catcher....not a lot of things that have to be removed to clean every time..lowest drop down profile so it will slide underneath things easily....sufficient battery time to last thru the time needed for cleaning...as lightweight as possible with weight on the floor not at the top of the handle...I have more experience than most as we rent houses every winter and they all have different ones....in every case they all start looking dirty and banged up pretty quickly.... so I avoid the high end ones... so I can replace it without regret.......they aren’t good for deep cleaning rugs so I do all my good area rugs occasionally with a real high quality vac...for luxury vinyl flooring it is all about quick...easy..lite weight convenience...I rarely use use the brush feature and have never noticed any scratching...

I agree with others about Miele. I own two - a really expensive C3 Marin canister with powerhead at my main residence and then a smaller C1 Homecare canister at our beach house. You can get a Miele C1 Pure Suction or Miele C1 basic canister for about $299. These C1 models don't have a powerhead which it sounds like you don't need and are very gentle with delicate floors. They're very powerful but super quiet and the wheels don't scratch.

What about a using A roomba type vacuum on LVP? Will those scratch or damage the floor?
