Lovely room! I'd go with Silhouette type shades. Perhaps even the bottom top kind. Could you call one of those blind companies for an in-house estimate? They can show you all the options on the market. I'd definitely opt for something discreet, the same colour as your trim. Would not want the window coverings to take centre stage. Are they currently bare? In some pics, it looks as if you have shades already.

Thank you so much for these comments I was unfamiliar with the Silhouette shades - they look like something that would compliment very well. An in-house estimate is probably exactly what I need to do. We also love the half height plantation shutters, but do not want to sacrifice the window moldings. I have had temporary paper-pleated shades hanging for quite a while now as I have been unsure on what to do .

Totally understand the uncertainty. Call a few places. Most offer free consultations. There are a lot of options out there but you won't find them at Home Depot or the like. :) Keep us posted. Looking forward to seeing what you choose.
