Sure, why not.

I wouldn't do it, at least not all of it, because the carpet would be nearly similar to the walls, you don't want to create a boring box.. Plus your room is quite high, so the walls are large surfaces, thus have massive impact.

Is there a style you prefer? Because I see a whole bunch of styles in your ideabooks..
What look do you want your condo to have? And your dark furniture, what does it look like?

When choosing colors, always stay two paint chips apart (not sure if it's a rule of thumb, but it works for me). So first find the chip/chips that represent your carpet and go from there. Or decide to change the flooring, of course.

@Rinqreation. My furniture is vintage, heavy and with scroll carved details that I have collected over the last 25 years. Coffee table heavily carved about the size of two hope chests

I really would appreciate your thoughts as I have the $$ to do it right but can't afford to make many mistakes. This is my first home as humble as it might be but I want something cozy but not cluttered. I am a bit on the eclectic side. I am not afraid of color but have no clue as to with the wall paint. I just don't want all this beige as pictured above.

I used Revere Pewter in my entire house and LOVE it.

Your furniture sounds beautiful and your new home looks perfect! Have fun!!! I like the idea of the Revere Pewter and would suggest that be one of your samples to try. It would look nice with the counters, too. Also hoping you do not have pots and pans hanging down like in the pic shown above.

I would not choose that color. I think it will clash with the carpet.

You need a warmer color more in keeping with the yellowy tones in your carpet.
Need to consider your upholstery too. Please post some more pics!

If you have the money to get a designer/stylist involded I would, especially if you have no idea where to start or what to do. Stay true to yourself, some designers want to talk you into their taste, find someone that listens to you, but is honest about what will work or not.

I personally would take out the carpet first and install a nice wooden or tile or even vinyl flooring (depending on whether you have pets/kids etc.) that looks great with your furniture. Then find fabrics for window treatments and pillows, a rug maybe. Then decide on paint colors.

Add a splash of color by painting the white door. That will dress it up, too. Right now the carpet will be nice with your furniture.

I have Revere Pewter in my living room. Depending on the time of day and light, it can be gray, beige, even green. It's a wonderful color in an eggshell finish and (in IMO) a completely boring color in flat.

Revere Pewter will not give you any contrast. Try Lenox Tan HC-44, the warm tone will really bring out your countertops and it really looks great with dark furniture.

I agree with Olldbobbi...it can be very different in light..certainly,grey and I have seen it tan as well.But it is a very lovely color.

I'm just reading this now- I see that it was posted a while ago- did you end up painting with revere pewter? How does it look with the counter top? we have a similar granite counter top and are debating if the color will go ok. I would be interested to see pictures if you have any. thanks!

Didn't go with the pewter wall paint. I had a decorator help with paint color and the sample color was too muddy with existing carpet, counter tops, light, etc. I am disliking the d/r immensely. Please help.
