Countertop and Backsplash issues

last modified: 7 years ago

Deciding what to do with the backsplash and counter top. My current set up is a High Definition laminate counter top with out the back splash. My wife and I do not like tile, only mosaic type. Either glass, stone, metal, or mixed. I have noticed they are all 12 tall and if I need to fill 18in I would have to buy up to double the amount and waste a lot of it.

So am left with don't remove back splash and the back splash will fill the 12 in gap without waste. (saves money as well)

or

No back splash, use just 12 in back splash, use edging up top, and leave 4 in gap top the cabinets.

or

use the above. No back splash and waste a lot of it.

What you guys think?

Also any of you guys ever have issue getting money from the bank? I asked for $7500 and they said best they could do was $5000 because of ROI % rules. I did not even include tax, some small things, the finishing of the roof, windows for the rest of the house, roofing the rest of the house, and water proofing the basement and drainage. All of that I am doing and paying for my self. That missing $2500 puts a dent in the other plans.
