Just keep in mind that the entrance to each bedroom will be a walk off mat from the corridor to the rest of the room. That is where the carpet will fail or need to be cleaned all the time. Especially if sneakers are worn.

I agree with the previous comments. Use area rugs instead for warmth and a softer look.

Area rugs are the perfect option, they add softness and warmth plus can provide a pop of color. Let the wood floors shine through and be seen for their true beauty.

If you want to just soften the look of the room an area rug would work out for your needs. If you live in a cold weather climate W/W with a good under pad is excellence for overall room warmth, luxurious feel on bare feet, and great for noise reduction you just can't get with an area rug. One of the biggest differences is noise reduction. My parents had hardwood with area rugs in the 2nd floor bedrooms and you could hear everything happening below and vise a versa. There was a huge noise reduction when they installed W/W in the bedrooms. Hardwood is beautiful with the correct maintenance, but as all materials it also has its cons. Is it a mistake to install W/W? No, the hardwood will always be there if you change your mind. It is just what you like personally and what fits your lifestyle better.

You might consider having broadloom bound in a size that allows the flooring to show about 18" all around. You don't have to tack down the carpet, you save the floors and you get the softness and sound dampening.
