All depends on what flatters the art. Is this a painting or print? Is there glass on the front or not? Could you paint the frame?

It’s an oil, no glass, I could paint but it’s actually a nice frame & reluctant to do so. Room that it would be hung in is contemporary, white walls & floors, high ceilings and modern furniture in ink colors & teal/blue. I would post a picture but am 2 hours away, ( 2d home ).

K Laurence, the matte finish and 1/2" sound pretty subtle. Seems it would work nicely. However, Beverly and the other pros know best. Your advice to others here on Houzz is always so helpful. My thought is if it looks good to you, it is good.

Thank you. I think I’ll try it. It’s not inexpensive, otherwise perfect, its worth trying., the worst that can happen is that I pay to return it ( a hassle due to its size ).
