Symmetry is not that important. If your family watches daytime tv shows (sports, etc.), the glare of light through the windows behind it is a big issue. If you only watch after dark, it isn’t an issue. You could add a light filtering roll-up window shade to reduce the light coming from the windows and bring it down only when watching tv during the day. I commented on those shades in another post about windows and window coverings just today. It may give you an idea or two.

Is this a model home and not your own? (A sign outside the window plus the decor lead me to ask that.) Did you buy the same model?

Please post a picture of the other side of the room. Right now building out the island seems to be your only option.

Put the TV over the fireplace. Is there some reason you don’t want to do that? It’s being done in lots of new design plans.... Definitely get it out of the window!

how many sliders do you need? This looks like a sunroom.

post pictures from the other angle. your two pics are almost the same. stand at the tv and shoot a picture that way.

can you remove the slider in back of the tv and make it a wall? Maybe with a smaller window?

This is a beach condo I recently purchased, not a model. Behind the loveseat is a walkway to the entry door. The setup is how the prior owners had it, which is why I posted for your advice. I’d rather not put it above the mantle as it’s too high. One option is to rearrange the couches so the TV is against the wall (to the right of the slider), but the couch would “cut off” the openness of the room with its back to the counter.

Yep as I suspected, move the tv to the wall the sofa is on. The sofa is already so far removed from the fireplace and because of the FP location it kind of has to stand a lone.

flip the sofa to float eventually replace the love seat with two chair but for now move it to left side of sofa. This will also open up the windows, and the tv will no longer be something you look at right when you walk in. I would wall mount it professionally and have a very slender cabinet.

I would move the TV as RL suggests above with one small alteration: I'd leave the loveseat where it is to form an entry from the front door and to keep the windows open. (Though I assume this maybe isn't your furniture?)

Another vote to put the TV on the sofa wall. Were the owners trying to use the TV to block the view of something??

@RL, why would it be any more boxy than the way you drew it? It would be exactly the same except with the loveseat on the other end.

Just change the mantle, drop it down and put the tv over the fireplace!

Please no TV above a fireplace when you have a perfect wall to put it on. BTW replace those awnings with solar shades and you will be able to watch TV any time of the day and still keep your view.

I just thought maybe a little more breathing room by the front door? Im actually hoping for 2 chairs instead of love seat lol.

Tv over the FP solves nothing as the space does not allow for furniture in front of the fireplace.

I think groveraxle has come up with a good plan. Not crazy about walking into the back of a sofa from the front door.
