So I was walking around my yard today checking out my trees, when much to my surprise I spotted a single Gold Nugget mandarin hanging on my tree!!!! I had been watching several other fruit on the same tree that all ended up falling off towards the end of last summer when we had some scorching heat. I thought there was no fruit left, which made this discovery so much better.

It weighed in at just under 10 oz

It had zipper skin that came right off

It had a very refreshing spritely taste with good acid to sweet balance. It probably would’ve been even better had I waited and left it on my tree for another few weeks but I couldn’t wait to try it. Can’t wait to see if it holds fruit next year.
