The glitter effect is dependent on the shape of the petal cells. Dome shaped cells reflect the light better than ones which are flat. Flatter cells don't reflect as much light and don't glitter.

When you are staging your plant for the photo - add an incandescent light - for whatever reason the light from a regular bulb makes these special cells sparkle on the photo.

thanks! When I first noticed the sparkle the AV was under these halogen lights, it lit up like crazy! but in regular daylight (not direct sun) I don’t see it at all. It was just a pleasant surprise!
