Gallery Wall or No?

Can I fit a Gallery Wall split on both sides of the opening or no?

Yes, you could, or you could put the gallery on the larger side and put a large and long painting on the narrower side.

yes if you have nice pieces of art and not junk or photos

They are all family photos in black and white and some mixins. I don't know if it's junk. This is what I have my gallery wall.

I do have a wall clock. Should I move the wall clock?

Does anyone think I have room for bar stools?

Search "picture collage" on Houzz for ideas. It will help to have a theme.

    The clock is fine!

There is not much of a counter for stools. I wouldn't.

I agree no bar stools. I will search on houzz for the gallery wall ideas. I will keep the clock where it is.

Do I need to rearrange the furniture or add any pieces?

Going to do the gallery wall on the larger side and find something larger for the other side. Any suggestions?
Should the picture collage go above the opening or stay under it?

If you elect to do the gallery wall on one side only then you might want to stay under the opening; if on both sides you can go over the opening. A lot of it is trying things and seeing how you like them.

I think by staying slightly beneath the height of the opening the collage will be in good proportion to the rest of the room.

the gallery wall you have is very cute. But continuing with photos can be boring, try something different

    Dyliane something different like what?
I will keep the photos under the opening.

find a subject that you like and find some art prints for example. In my case I love birds and I have it in my living room. Find something without hurry, something that you love and have a meaning for you. For example, here https://fineartamerica.com/ you can find prints in watercolor paper

Okay. So I put up some items and working on my entry. Any recommendations.

Looks great! Love the color you're painting the chest too.

Godis is this a new place? One approach to the curved archway is to consider the smaller wall an extension of the larger side. But I wouldn't do it as an extended gallery IF I also had one over the couch, but your two pictures do not appear to be of the same place.

As far as a wall clock, I think they should be place where you will want to look up and see the time. Ours is over the mantel in our family room, large and visible from all around our open kitchen/dining/family room area.

The gallery wall you did is really cute and I like that grey chair, what a find!

I sent a picture of my gallery wall before the move. So no they are not of the same place.

Thinking about doing this on the smaller wall.

Quick question. I love these old dining tables. It's not in the best shape but $100 I can put some work into it. What should I do? Before I go and pick it up. Also, here is a picture of my dining room.

LOL Godis, I have almost that same set! I like the look of tablecloths in the dining room so I can change the look of my dining room and table often with different linens, placemats, runners, etc. YMMV. I inherited my dining set, I used to think I hated it, but with other items in the room, and table linens, it has grown on me. It's a different kind of look than is everywhere on TV and stores and in magazines and popular now.

My home is "curated" and decorated in an eclectic mix with family heirlooms, called "English country" style so it works for me. I just got done refinishing one of our chairs where the caning was broken. You can stain that wood darker if you like. Here's a photo of my dining set. I handle the over-the-top grainy effect of the top of the dining table with linens, as I mentioned. In these photos the table has the Christmas look on it, it's different now. Plus the end chairs do not match, dad got them at a garage sale and they are out now that I fixed the other two chairs. I still need to reupholster the chair seats to something more updated than their current lime green, but the whole room is going to get a makeover when we put in wood floors there this spring, so I can wait.

Not sure whey "Big Bertha" my china cabinet look squished into the corner in this photo, must be the angle, because it is actually centered on the wall.

I thought about staining just the top and painting the legs and chairs white but not sure. I know I can always change it but it's more work. I like prints for fabrics.

Here's a photo of my room with a "fall" lighter look. With a tablecloth you can go many ways. I'm not sure why they went out of fashion. We're such messy eaters, we would at the very least need placemats on the table and a runner to protect the top from serving dish scrapes. I change out my tablecloths every couple of week. I have a lot of inherited table linens and stuff people have given me. I now leave those blah vertical blinds open all the time do expose the beautiful view and french doors.

You might consider painting the legs and chairs white. But if I did that, I would not pick a bright white, I'd look into a creamy color perhaps distressed or "antiqued" as they used to call wiping on a glaze over the solid paint. I would not paint the top but perhaps stain it dark to match your flooring. That would tone down the way the grain stands out. I'm no refinishing expert, but I think there is a midway product between a paint and a stain. I have seen examples of those chairs painted white, so it could work. Not sure about the tabletop . . .

Maybe start a new thread about redoing an old oak wood dining table and you'll get some responses of folks who have done it. I only have considered it. Here's a link to an example of someone who did something similar. If you google "painting wood french provincial style chairs" etc. you get some good photo inspiration. http://www.sewcountrychick.com/french-country-glazed-creamy-painted-dining-set-mini-tutorial/

Not really the style of your home though, unless you find yourself moving more in an eclectic and english country direction. I developed the "curated" style by proxy, because due to cost and sentiment, we want to work with what we have rather than buy new all the time. And any new pieces have to play nice with the old too.

Here is what I've done so far with the table. I did order French linen gray stripe fabric but put the ticking fabric open until it gets here. Bot done yet. Thinking about putting plates on the wall with the lamps.

Wow! Your table looks awesome painted . What a bargain for $100.

I stained top with weathered gray but lightly sanded the original stain because I wanted some of it to come through. I haven't sealed it yet because I don't want poly but may do a wipe on finish or wax. Not sure yet.

Good job! Now you need a wall art above the console.

I have always liked “plates or platters” for wall art.
The question is where do I find all of these lol.

    What about this one?

Consignment stores, antique shops. Even Home Goods, Hobby Lobby. Do you have a Tuesday Morning store near you?
    We do Yes!
And yes, I love that one also. You can do one color or mix colors. I personally like one color.
Would it be too much white?
Looking forward to seeing what you decide. You’re making great progress.

Wow! When I saw the first table and chairs picture I thought "meh", but after you worked your magic it looks amazing!

I don’t think it would be too much white, bot if you have concerns, throw some green or black into the mix.
