My Ogon are in full sun, and they are one of my favorite shrubs, very early bloom and great, late fall color (orange).

Will easily tolerate light shade but coloring will be more towards chartreuse rather than gold. A very adaptable plant. This is a very popular cultivar and should be relatively easy to find at area nurseries. I have even seen them offered for sale at my local Home Depot.

most yellow plants ... need full sun to stay yellow ..

as you reduce light levels ... they tend to turn more green ... create more chlorophyll ... to offset the lesser light ...

'shade' is near impossible to define in words ... and it would be very hard to predict.. how it will all work out.. in your version of shade ...

we might start by asking how many hours of sun ... and what hours of the day it happens .. e.g. sun at dawn and dusk is not as strong as mid day ... anything over 8 hours.. is considered full sun ...

I have never seen it in a nursery, garden center or big box store here and had to mail order mine.

Mine came from Avante Gardens, a small nursery in MA. They were relatively small plants, but healthy. Everything I have gotten from these folks has grown well, but if you can find them locally you will get more plant for your money.
