Yes spring is here!

After I lost all those trees to Hurricane Michael, we had an ice storm and lost another dozen or so trees, mainly on DH’s goat fence but four more in my garden. I still have tree cutters and a stump grinder scheduled for March. I don’t see any reason to try to repair the damage that has been done by their equipment since they’ll be doing it again soon.

It has rained and rained here, that’s part of the delay with getting the yard cleaned up. Yesterday afternoon it dried up, the sun came out and the temp went up to the 60’s. All of the fragrant winter bloomers are in lull bloom. It was glorious outside, and I remembered why I like my garden, but it’s been a pretty depressing place all winter.

i was moving irrigation tubing off of the stumps that need to me ground when I found this:

Wolverine— doing its usual early spring thing. It was growing out of the root ball of a downed pine tree. I rescued it and a Lakeside Kaleidoscope that I had to dig around for. I’m off to the Mardi Gras tomorrow, it’ll be spring when I return.

If you can grow an Edgeworthia in you zone get one! Heavenly scent!
