Design Dilemma Entry

Staircase Shelf

I need some design help! I have this staircase that comes up from my front door to my living space. The shelf is pretty long and is about 6" deep. I would like to put something on this shelf (other than the coats and laundry that is on there now-lol) that would make the space more inviting and homey. I thoughts of six flameless tealights in decorative containers but other than that, I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I'm sure you're looking for creative ideas from people but, I would leave that shelf empty. It is not large enough to hold anything significant enough to make it look like anything but clutter (in my opinion).

I'd leave it empty. Anything you put there will call attention to it, be another thing to clean, and risk the chance of being knocked over.

No, it isn't really a shelf for putting things. Just keep it clean since it will attract dust.
