Hi folks, not been on the forum for ages and thought it was about time to take a looksee to find out who’s still around! So hello to those that know me ... and also to those that don’t too!

The seven members of my ‘small but perfectly formed‘ adenium family are still going strong I’m pleased to say! The three seed grown survivors that have struggled along for 11 years through thick and thin are doing well having come through a very mild winter this time round. Theyer still n the small side but that’s ok and each flower yearly in white, pale pink and dark pink. Ricks gifted seeds that produced my three Arabicum ‘Bouquet’ are also doing well. My other plant, the Dang Siri obesum continues to flower annually, I didn’t grow this from seed myself as it was given to me as a mature flowering plant by another kind forum member several years ago.

The UK is experiencing silly temps, 18C in Feb is ridiculous but welcome! The plants are enjoying the sun, the winter has also been rather mild too and none of my plants defoliated completely. I’ll try to post again soon.

So nice to see you back posting, Gill. I have not been able to drop in as much but am hoping to more often now.

Sounds like your weather there has been unusually warm for this time of year. A friend was just speaking of his sister in Scotland and saying how warm it has been there. Makes you want to rush out and start doing gardening things, but tuff when you do not know what is around the corner with the weather these days.

Glad to hear that you are doing well and plants growing nicely.

There has been many changes w Gardenweb/Houzz, but we really do not have much of a say in these changes and we either learn to adapt and make good of what is available here or we drop out. Simple as that.

Hello Gill! So glad to hear from you! :) Spring is almost here, I sure miss this forum and our beautiful adeniums. My plants are doing ok, most of them survived winter, but all together I lost about 30 of my seed grown, from babies to two and a half years old. Every couple of weeks I find 3-4 dead, ugh. Also, I’m on vacation (Hawai) for three more weeks and my son is taking care of my adeniums, lol. I won’t be surprised if I’ll have to start over. Trying not to think about it: :) It’s been great to know that some of us still here, love you all! Be back in a month:)

Elena, sorry you lost those! I lost 3 of my imported grafts ("sunshine", "peach", and most likely "Better Gold". It's drying after a massive cut but probably wont make it). I'm not quite sure what happened this winter. I see a trend though, all were yellow varieties. Hmmm. I guess I have an excuse to buy more. I'm grateful that none of the 3 were in my top faves.. still sad to lose, though.

Hi Gill! Good to hear from you. The Adenium forum seems rather slow in the Northern Hemisphere Winter so I don’t check in too often. I mostly hang out in the Cacti & Succulent forum these days.

Its good to know some places are experiencing mild Winters. It’s been uncharacteristicly wet & cold here in San Diego this Winter with MANY nights in the mid to low 30’s Fahrenheit. I actually shopped for frost cloth but couldn’t find any locally. A forum member who was familiar with it sent me some from the Bay Area.

All of my Adenium are still inside and at this point I think the will be for at least a few more weeks.

The other succulents and cacti are doing fine...when the cat isn’t knocking them to the ground. AARGHHHHH!!!!!
