Don't forget to rabbit rabbit

last modified: 7 years ago

If the first words out of your mouth on the first day of the month are "rabbit rabbit", you're supposed to have good luck for the rest of the month.

Don't need to say it to anyone, and it can be any time after midnight.

Good luck everyone!

THANK you Annie! I like doing this, but I need your monthly reminder.

I'm off to put a piece of paper over my clock radio as a reminder.

    Thanks Annie!

My husband will arrive home after business travel at about 12:30, so when I wake up to greet him I’m first going to say “rabbit, rabbit!” Thanks for the reminder! :)

I always get so tickled reading these posts!

I will definitely say rabbit rabbit tonight! Thanks again for the reminder!

Maybe this will be the time I don't mess up.

    Yeah, I remembered!

I think I got it right this month. I said the words, and I don't think I said anything else out loud.

We'll see. I have a problem tenant who was supposed to be moved out yesterday. If she's actually gone today, I will know that the rabbits worked!

DH and I remembered! Good thing as we've both been sick...

Sorry to read that Annie! Hope you get better quickly.

I did rabbit rabbit :-) hopefully it will help as we could really use the help right now. Too bad it's not retroactive and already in the works...

I did it! With the help of setting the alarm to 11:50 and making sure I didn't utter a word until one minute after twelve, just to be sure! :)

I did it! When I woke up at 6am I said it out loud. So far, so good. DH got a call last evening to help out a friend with a doctors appointment this am, so I have been on my own to get things ready for a contractor that will be here after lunch to help us decide on a remodel in the kitchen and my bathroom to make it all more accessible for me. I did enough without hurting myself or falling etc. to be satisfied that the house is uncluttered and there will be nothing the contractor will find that will embarrass me.

I blew it. First words out of my mouth this morning were "No Biting!!"

I woke up at 3AM to find that I'd been racking my brain as I slept, apparently, as to what those words were that I was supposed to say (LOL)! I finally did remember! And since I'd been sound alseep since 11PM, they were the first words out of my mouth after midnight. My DH rolled over, though, and said, "Rabbit! What rabbit? Where?!" He was not amused (LOL)!

We failed this time but I have to say with the really bad stuff the last couple of months when we did say it not sure it will matter lol

Well Mom always said it only seemed to help her find good parking spots...

I forgot and said "lazy dogs" instead---then had a job interview cancelled today. grrrr

Will have to add a phone reminder- good idea!

I said it and ended up having a lousy day. lol

Annie, I hear you! I woke up at 3 and couldn’t breathe out of one side of my nose. Have had a bad cold. So I said it and sure hope it helps get rid of this cold.

I keep forgetting. It's the second of the month... alas, too late. I need to make me a reminder on March 31st...

This is the first time I've clicked on a "Don't forget to rabbit..." thread. I take it that saying rabbit-rabbit on the first day of the month is supposed to bring good things for the month. Is that the deal? Where does this custom come from?

I don't know where the custom came from Matthias, but Annie introduced it to us probably a year ago. She, thank heavens, reminds us monthly.

I do the annual 'bury the money' on New Year's Eve, thanks to Raven.

I believe the rabbit-rabbit is going to work for me this month. I've been trying to get a consistent answer on time, and amount from Service Canada on what I can expect in the way of a Survivor's Allowance. Every time I call, I speak to a different person (call center). I think I got hold of a lady who actually knows what she's doing. She told me that my application is completed, but that the account is 'suspended' whatever the heck that means. She looked deeper and saw that I'm getting paid retroactive to December, so I'll get a lump sum and then a monthly amount going forward. She's lifting the suspension in order for me to get my payment. Her numbers are comfortable for me, I've been told much smaller numbers.

Fingers crossed the Rabbit is right!

Ugh, I have not remembered to do this yet! But I need some luck, so April for sure. April is also my birthday month so maybe it will be extra lucky.

Jasdip, I hope you get your first survivor’s benefit check very soon! Glad you finally received some help.
