It's the gauge of the stainless steel that you want to choose wisely. The lower the number the thicker the steel and the more durable it will be. You might also consider how deep a sink you want for how it will be used.
A faucet with many parts can be problematic, whereas a simple faucet might work for years. I would check out as many as possible and ask a plumber you trust.

With apologies, mousemaker. Many people feel exactly as you do, that paying for a heavier metal bears fruit in the durability of the sink. Not so! according to Consumer Reports who tested the sinks in part by dropping a 5 lb metal object (as if it were heavy pan). The lightest weight of stainless and the heaviest showed no significant difference.

You are correct about the consumers reports and the gauge of the sink. I'm just wondering about manufacturers. I'm also looking for a good faucet with a spray nozzle feature.

minimumjoe :) I think the key words are "in part" ...CU has it's own agenda too, although I have relied on them for many years. I got the word about the sink from my plumber, a very trustworthy fellow :)
Durability is really a matter of wear over time more than a sudden impact, even though impact is a concern, you know?
