Garnet Hill Free shipping

For those interested. I just ordered the leggings. I called GH the other day because when I put them in my shopping cart there was a code. That code though was not for the leggings, but some other promo.

I exclaimed my dismay. I really didn't want to spend money to ship this one item.

Today there was an email and it had a discount code.

I learned about these leggings here from CindyMac and a few others.

I usually buy my leggings at Marshall's for my exercise wear. But, these look like you can dress them up and wear them for other times as well.

Next time I order anything from GH I am calling them. I have been upset with them several times over items disappearing from my cart in the middle of checkout, high shipping charges and then a free shipping email appearing the very next day after I order. They would not adjust. I’m over them, unless it’s a really great deal and I can’t get a similar item elsewhere.

Thanks eld - I haven't purchased from GH in a long time so will take a look.

OutsidePlaying I feel the same way about Ballards - I'm done with them. My last order with them was for bench cushions -over the years I've shopped with them frequently. They were 30% off with free shipping otherwise I would never have purchased them because their shipping is crazy high - $30 for those 2 cushions. Well they arrived and the color was off but they were also not measuring quite to the specs. I could probably deal with the size difference but not the the color so wanted to exchange them. Not only would they not honor the sale price anymore for the exchange but if I wanted to just return instead they wanted to charge shipping for the privilege. Needless to say I went ballistic. They were returned on their dime and I will never shop with them again.

I agree - both of these retailers have high shipping charges. I do believe they are part of the same retail group. I like Ballards and GH and will continue to shop with them but only with free shipping and a discount.

On the subject of leggings... If you ever come across Lildy jeggings, try them. I saw them at CVS Pharmacy (I know, so upscale) and bought a pair on a whim. I loved them so much that I went back and bought a pair in every color. They're made nicely and a slightly heavier weight. They fit me more like skinny jeans and don't give the dreaded cameltoe. At $15 a definite bargain. I've dressed mine up and down, wash cold and hang to dry.

I won't shop at Garnet Hill because of the cost of shipping. You always take a chance when buying online simply because you can't see or try on an item and they always inflate the description of the item. Paying to have it shipped to you and then paying again for a return is just too much.

Ya, I just won't buy from anyone these days if they have high shipping fees. If there's something I really want I hold out for free shipping. Ballard kept sending me messages about what I'd left in my cart. I kept responding that I'd love to buy the item with the 20% off but will only buy with 20% off and free shipping. After several months I finally got a 20% off notice and free shipping and I made the purchase. I was happy with it.

I did just get two cashmere sweaters from GH that were half price with free shipping, though, and I am delighted with both of them. I am a sucker for their sweaters.

I bought q quilt and shams when they were on sale. I am not sure if I got free shipping. But....I really truly like the quality of this quilt. It takes a beating with the dog jumping up on it and scrunching it up to get comfy, yet still looks great.

Although it is hard, I can manage to stuff it in my top loader and wash it.

When my DD saw it she said she could get me the same thing for so much less in India. Well, interestingly enough, when i looked at the tag it is made in India.

Ida! Jeggings at CVS, who knew? off to check them out.

I also avoid Garnet Hill unless the price is so good that it makes up for the shipping cost and the possible return shipping. It doesn't happen very often.

I wish they had some free standing stores. I'd be happy to drop off a return rather than pay shipping. There used to be an awesome GH outlet store where my inlaws lived but it is long gone.

I didn't realize that all these brands were related. You would think they would be able to find a way to streamline and reduce their shipping costs.

If you fill a shopping cart and don’t purchase, you will start to get retargeting messages/emails that will often include discounts.

Unless it’s already discounted, or I really want it, I never buy on the first shop.

I buy their sateen sheets and leggings, but only when a good discount or free shipping is offered.

Don't know how thick those CVS jeggings are, but the ones from Soft Surroundings (5 pocket pull on leggings) are almost as thick as jeans. A little pricey unless you can find them discounted, but worth it in my opinion.
