Thanks! The foyer has not had shades on for quite a while. I just wanted to get some outside opinions. Btw, cleaning the chandeliers are bad enough lol.

I agree, with the wavy shades especially it looks very traditional. It depends on what style your home is. Trends don't matter; it's just a matter of what suits your personal style. Nice chandelier!

I like it with the shades, which are much more attractive to my eye than a bare candelabra bulb.

Love your crystal chandeliers. I have a weakness for crystal. I presently don't have shades on mine. I think the shades take away from the beautiful crystals.

I use " Extend A Finish Chandelier Cleaner" off of amazon for my 18 light crystal chandelier. It works great.

Lovely chandeliers, I vote definitely no shades!! But I would use different bulbs. The plastic on the bottom of the bub is not pretty imo and is probably not meant to be visible.

I will join Ida - not sure there was anyone else- in the with shades camp. Chandeliers look naked/unfinshed without them.

I prefer shades, just not THOSE shades! Choose a simple pleated silk shade such as this.

I think that style of chandelier looks strange without some form of shades but I do agree that the current shades are too fussy.

I have some vintage chandeliers and I do use shades. Even the nicest "candle-look" bulbs look as if there is an element missing.

I think the comments regarding whether shades are on trend is somewhat strange since the chandelier itself is extremely traditional and not paying aesthetic homage to its intrinsic design seems visually awkward.
