Coffee table and Chair advice

last modified: 9 days ago

I am seeking opinions on furniture that I have aquired. I have two options for coffee tables (oval and small rectangle). I also have two options for chairs (burgandy vintage, or blue slip covered). I am really just moving things around from differnt rooms, so not a huge budget for big investment for other options. Please share your thoughts. I always appreciate

the ideas from the wonderful, creative people on this site!

I prefer the burgundy chairs and the oval coffee table.

the club style chairs are dark and heavy, the others more defined and stand alone.

I'd style the top of the chest of drawers with some height, looks like you have a few things there you can rearrange. just an example:

Have you tried swapping the sofa with the chest of drawers?

Thanks Lyn. I appreciate your suggestions! Unfortunately, the art above the cupboard is the Frame TV, (a sore spot between my husband and I) so I have some limitations about what I can do about the surface of that repurposed buffet.

I agree with others here. The burgundy vintage chairs and the oval coffee table are gorgeous.

Any chance the TV could be raised a bit? Even 3-4" would give you a little room for items on top of the buffet and would avoid the straight line across the tops of the art and TV.

I agree about the oval coffee table, and I see why others are choosing the burgundy chairs. If I were a sitter in chairs and not a curler-upper, I would choose those too, but I could snuggle happily into the comfortable blue chairs with a good book. Your call which chair person you are. Either way, from the part of the room I can see, I would angle the chair in the far corner so it faces into the room. And if the blue chairs stay, I might look for an ottoman and a reading lamp for the one in the corner.

Okay, thanks so much for the feedback. I think I could absolutely bring the T.V up a little more. The blue chairs are way more comfy, but I think that they will work well in our sunroom upstairs. It looks like the winners overall are the burgandy chairs and the oval table. Thank you everyone!

Definitely raise the TV ... and the art.

Thanks everyone! Blue chairs are moving upstairs today, burgandy ones are coming down. Oval coffee table will be the choice for this room and I will add moving TV up a few inches on my husband’s ”To Do” list. I also have a box of old brass picture lights in the basement. should I put one over each of the pieces flanking the frame t.v or will this look too busy/cluttered?

Moved burgandy chairs down and moved in walnut oval table in place of the regtangular. pictures on either side of the frame tv should move in to close gap? What are your thoughts? These burgandy chairs are substantially lower and smaller in scale.

The chairs and oval table lighten things up nicely! The dark green pillows on chairs seem bulky and dark. What about smaller lumbar pillows in a pale green or blue shade from your beautiful rug? I’m with you on the Frame TV but . . . husbands! I’d love to see your two Modigliani-like paintings where the TV is. Moving them closer to the TV won’t give them the space they need to breathe. Is there another wall or room that would show them off better?

Thanks @Caroline O. i could swap out pillows for sure and I could rehome the two pieces on either side of the TV. however, it looked like the wall was missing someothing when I didn’t have anything else on the wall but the TV. Perhaps I need to better channel some anti-clutter energy and embrace the empty wall space! Thanks very much for the suggestions.
