Yes, it sure is and they’re beautiful. My understanding is that the green bark actually performs photosynthesis.

Yes, I’m on FB. I really appreciate that. I’ve seen seeds offered online but without knowing anything about the sellers, their reputations or the viability of the seeds it’s a gamble.

I've grown Parkinsonia (Cercidium) florida and praecox from cactusstore.com, but microphylla did not germinate for me. I had trouble with a couple other species from there as well, so it seems to be hit or miss. Maybe some species are inherently more difficult to germinate, or maybe some of their seed is old or improperly collected. Not sure. I love the blue-green color on my florida.

I’ve read that the outer protective layer is very difficult to penetrate and that they need to be “roughed up” a bit prior to planting to assist with germination. They are eaten by animals and pass through the system undigested but that is enough for the seeds to be able to germinate.
