Personally, I don't think shutters around your front door work with your home's style. For reference I am looking at the first pic showing a double door entry. Is that your home? Or is the second pic your home with the single door entry?

If it is the second one, can you take a photo of the entire front?

Nice front door! I had the exact same door installed in January! I think the black shutters on either side of door are too dark, I'd paint them the same colour as the stucco behind them. Paint them out, let the door stand out on its own. The black shutters on windows look great black so leave them as is. I would also replace your lighting with black fixtures in much larger scale. And lastly, widen the sidewalk so that two people can walk side by side. Good luck!

Thanks for all of your suggestions!!! I completely agree that the black shutters cannot stay on either side of the door!! We are leaning towards having a wood panel made to match the front door stain and style on either side to replace the shutters at this point. Not sure what we will do with the shutters on the rest of the house, but we definitely need some new (larger, black) light fixtures as well! Thanks, all!! Agree the shutters by the door need to go. The rest of the house looks lovely and I like the black shutters as is. I do like in the pics posted by Celerygirl the window pieces added on either side of the front door. If that is not possible then something stained to match the front door would also be very nice.
