I think it is time to go through your shelves and get rid of some things and reorganize the rest. You might want to put some things in baskets to streamline the look. It looks like your blinds are on the outside of the windows. Are they? The area rug seems too small. Maybe you should get a desk with file drawers, so you don't have some much stuff on the top.

I just took the blinds to wash them they are white and I don´t like them so much. Yes I need to take things from the table, I love these table is from an Italian designer and I cannot get rid of, but is big. Do you like it more with the rug in the middle or with the table?. One super cheap and easy thing you can quickly do is to simply arrange the books. Since the bookcase takes up most of the wall it will make a HUGE difference. Here is an excellent example

any recommendation about light for the bookcase?

Hi Andy......Are the shelves in the wall unit moveable??? If they are I would suggest making space for the TV inside one of the shelves with a swing arm, it looks like the components are already there. To create some interest on the unit try and create different spaces, so that you can have sculpture, art, pictures, and books. I really don't see anything wrong with your living room, the furniture needs replacing, and I would not use an area rug in the space the floor looks nice. The space is light and bright which is nice.

It doesn"t is a question of wide and not of tall, is a peatty.
And i think is to heavy to handle it only with an arm. I have also DVD, playstation, Wii etc...

It's a shame to not use the space in the bookcases to place a TV. There are a lot of shelves. A cabinet maker would be able to remove some shelves for the TV and components. He could probably cut out an area for a niche in the bookcases on the left to place your glass desk. Then you can move the chair in the space where the desk is now.

For lighting you might be able to use rope lighting concealed by molding the edges. Spot ceiling lights are nice too and can be directed. I would try to simplify the books and place a few vases or collectibles on the shelves. Nothing too small and leave some open space on shelves with maybe 1-2 items on that shelf.

Had another option... Put the TV on the wall opposite the bookcase wall. Place the sofa that is opposite the bookcase, in front of the bookcase. Switch places. Create an L-shape unit by moving sofa at the window closer to the moved sofa. Chair in almost the same area it is now. Don't know if that can work for you.

for the bookcase, you can also hang artwork from it in front of some of the shelves.

I like these idea. Good option, so I can hang the tv on the wall and look for a shelve for the playstation etc

Is a heavy strong book shelve divided in four. The tv is wider than one of the part, if I find a strong arm my be I can put it. But I think it will never fit in.

I think you can mount it attached to the bookcase frame with the proper brackets. As long as the bookcase and shelves are properly anchored.
