My favorite light "neutral-y" gray is Restoration Hardware in Pumice. I have several shades of gray in my house (with some darker grays in a bathroom and study), but I think Pumice is the best gray for a bedroom. It's a cool gray, so if you prefer beige or greige, it might be too cold for you. But it's very subtle and receives lots of compliments, even from the painters in particular (I think that's good?)

I also have some blues and greens that I used and like, but Pumice sounds most like what you are looking for.

SW Relaxed Khaki is awesome with white trim.
