The reinforcing steel in this countertop has rusted creating a crack.
It is so severe, it has offset the front edge at the corner and delaminated the seam.
The sink is removed.
There are only four clips holding the sink in place. I hate clips. Note the polyester blob to the left of the faucet hole. That missing clip may have prevented the leaking sink from rusting the rod and ruining the top.

I designed and had this custom apron front sink built.
The top can now be put back in place and the seam remade. It's not going anywhere.
Several fabricators told my client the repairs were impossible and that replacement was the only option. She would have replaced the tops for double what I charged and wouldn't have gotten that spectacular sink installed.

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoI love what you did here. I hope I can find someone in Las Vegas who can do the same to get rid of the sink by cutting a bigger opening. I saw a stainless steel sink online that had an apron like yours but without the large backsplash, let me go look for it again.

Try a Kohler 3942 please if you want an apron sink without having to polish the cutout:

I only have pictures to look at because we're still closing on the home but looking at this picture, it appears that the straight corner of the countertop is narrower than the sink, which would preclude using an apron sink. 🙄
