How to doggy proof your back yard

Our young Great Pyrenees Luna is without a doubt, one of the biggest diggers we have ever had. I was away at art school for 4 months and would come home weekends to my husband saying, look what she did this time! He decided that every time she would dig a bit of lawn out, he would put a flat rock in the hole to keep her from carrying on. We noticed that a pattern started to emerge and Luna actually enjoyed sitting on the flat rocks, so the rest is history. We started with a few ideas and a lot of research into what plants are doggy safe. We also used round pea gravel and natural rocks where we could, and actually put cement down to embed the stones in the sidewalks. We started with some mulched areas but she dug that too,

so we ended up using more gravel over landscape fabric. We still have another half of a yard to go, but so far are liking the results. We welcome any suggestions you all may have for a doggy washroom area as that is still lawn and still a digging zone.
