I have an area off the south side of a 120 year old farmhouse that includes a 40 yr old hemlock and a large hard maple , a concrete pad with a hand pump over an old sistern, a pressure treated deck and walkway. The existing garden pond is being filled in and I would like to replace it with a bubbling rock. I would like to incorporate some stone a few plants and one area with a firepit and another with a path /patio . Not sure where to start in choosing materials etc. Here are some pictures . One photo shows a path to the east that we will keep as is for now. Location is in Southern Illinois.
