I would define your style as Hollywood Regency. Click the link for ideas. Wallpaper would be my suggestion, for around the sink, with a gold design....but since it's a rental? Doubt a landlord would allow wallpaper.

For the times when a guest needs a sink make your bathroom available. get a cabinet made to cover that wierd sink placement and forget it was there then add a piece of art above the cabinet

For the sink I would purchase a colorful vessel sink that looks like a piece of art.

Find something you love and keep the old sink so that you can put it back when you move out.

Keep your purchase for your next home.

I googled multicolored vessel sinks and found this - Caught my eye as somehting I would love to have in my home. There are tons of beautiful vessel sinks to choose from.

Usually when I want to decorate a space or re-decorate, I search for inspiration and select colors from my inspiration.

Inspiration can come from an area carpet that has the colors of your furniture and blues or greens or from wall art that has the colors that you have + blues or greens. Bedrooms are often decorated based on a bedspread/quilt.

You have the foundation with your wall color and furniture, now find a carpet or pillows or a throw blanket or a piece of art that has the colors you have + some from the other side of the color wheel. Find something that makes your heart sing. Color is a very personal thing. Some people love blue, some love red and others some other color, so no one can really know what will make you feel good when you enter the room.

Once you find that one inspiration piece you can build on that additional color to add vases, flowers, plants, wall art . . . keep adding until the room feels balanced.

You have so nice soft color furniture, so I would not bring more colors. Go this direction, with soft pastel palette.

Beautiful space. Maybe one of these original artworks would add some texture and contrast to your wall. Here are some ideas to ponder. Good luck and enjoy decor !

Laila, the sink is fine. You are not the first person to have a bathroom with a sink outside of the room. Many high end homes have a separate toilet closet and many hotels have the sink and vanity outside of the bath room. I have seen other apartments and homes with a sink outside of the bathing / toilet area. Having the sink in the front entry may be a little more obvious than some other designs, but it really isn't that incredibly unusual. Thinking about it - every public bathroom with mulitple stalls is designed with a door between the stall and the sinks including the bathrooms our kids use every day in school and the bathrooms most of us use daily at work.

Ignore the Ewwww's and know that those people are just being persnickity and they probably use bathrooms with the same set up and don't give it a second thought when they are not inside their home.

Another question for you - what is your favorite color?

For the sink,just an idea. Maybe you can look for something that looks like the ones you can find in the streets of Italy, don't know how they are called, more like a fontain on the wall? A sink in the entry is realy disturbing. Good luck

I love the teal pillows! I Googled Pistachio, and I got a much more green bright color than the teal color I'm seeing on your pillows. The link below shows gold and the coordinating colors. I actually love the sink, adds so much uniqueness to your apartment! My grandmother actually had a sink like that installed in the bedroom where I always slept and it always made me feel luxurious and special.

I would try to find a carpet with the same green as in the pillows. Solid or design with that color and the other colors you already have.

Good job with the pillows. Keep layering that color into the rooms.
