Laundry Area Set Up

Trying to figure out the best option for our laundry area. We currently have Samsung front loaders (that can be stacked) in our semi-converted attached garage (we live in Los Angeles). I know it is ideal to have them inside but don't have many options. Which would you prefer/suggest?

Large side by side in semi-converted attached garage

Large front loading stackables in 1st level bathroom (bedrooms on 2nd level)

Large side by side in semi-converted attached garage and a smaller set in 1st level bath

Totally reconfigure upstairs layout to allow for large stackable upstairs near bedrooms (this will probably cost $$$)

What do you mean by "semi-converted"?

Do you have small children? I spent a lot of time doing laundry while my kids played in the adjacent family room, and I could have the door open. Can you do that with your garage setup?

It really doesn't matter what anyone else prefers. It's what you need, want and can afford that matters.

bpath brings up a good point - can you leave the door open to watch the kids, if need be? Is the first option easily accessible? Yes, laundry near bedrooms/bathrooms is ideal but is walking a few minutes to reach the machines hardship for you? Would making a list of pros and cons for each option help you decide?
