How long did it take to produce flowers? Any specific tricks? When you have a free moment, I would like to see a photo of the whole tree. There are a few of these in my local botanical gardens, but I have never seen any flowers.

Charline, it's not my plant, but mine took about 10 years. I've heard that withholding water to plants in the late spring/summer helps mature plants flower (the plant pictured is in South Africa, so it's the beginning of their fall, if the picture is recent). Yes, flowers are fairly rare.

Charline, my rumor gained more credence. The grower of this plant lives in a winter-rainfall area and doesn't water it in spring and summer.
