Banana question

I'm torn as to whether to take out my large Orinoco. It's two years old, but didn't bloom last year. Almost all its leaves are dead, and it seem to be be completely dying. I guess I'm crazy to hope for a bloom stalk at this point, and should just take it out. Its pup is growing and putting out new leaves like crazy.

Last time I cut off a banana, it put out a bloom stalk, and everyone told me it would never ripen because of no leaves. I'm wondering, since this one has a pup still attached with leaves to feed it somewhat, should I wait to see if it blooms? How long should I wait? All the bananas are coming out this year, because I just don't have space for them, so I just need to know if I should just take it out now.
