Kitchen remodel

last modified: 7 years ago

My husband and I are currently shopping for a house. We have found a home we love but the kitchen is in horrible need of an upgrade. I have photos from Zillow and plan to take better photos of the house today once we view it (and bring my measuring tape.) i realize this would be an expensive undertaking, but am asking if the general opinion is that my ideas would be able to be done and the design would work for a kitchen. what I want to do is first, remove the island/bar that is running the ledge of the kitchen. Then I’d like to remove the seating along the back wall and the table. I’d like to also remove the peninsula running off the installed kitchen cabinets. Then I’d like to attach the larger pre existing island/bar combo to the cabinets that were left alone and running along the wall, with the understanding I’d have to also change the granite (and gladly so!) then I’d like to make the peninsula an Island I. The center of the kitChen to help with workflow and aesthetics. The dishwasher is currently inside the peninsula. So I understand moving this can be hard and costly. However, we are planning to purchase the home knowing we’d want a major overhaul on the kitchen. I also understand that the bar on the existing island would need to be cut down to level with the cabinets running agains the wall. I hope all this makes sense and somebody can help me out!
