How about an upholstered platform bed? That’s what I have in my bedrooms. I’ve slept in beds like that pictured , I hit my ankles ever time I got out of bed. I hate them

Btw, I bought low profile mattresses for under each mattress, elevating it some and bed making easier.

Here is our Master bed. Hubby built it from pipe. it is high enough to sit down on without falling to the floor. Hubby's design also allows it to fold up for moving with a few turns of a pipe wrench.

yes you will stub. but then your feet will learn it's there. If you like it, then get it.

my husband and I have built platform beds for us and our son.

the bottom portion is inset, but on my sons there is an overhang. i've hit my leg on the corner many times.

what helps is if you have a larger space to maneuver around the bed. my sons room is pretty narrow.

I love both our last platform beds and we are in our 70’s you only stub your toe once and if you are smart you never do it again.

I love the first one. Platform beds are much cooler than your regular beds. And if you're concerned about stubbing your toes, you'll get used to the bed in a while and simply learn not to stub your toes. So don't sweat the little things, it looks great. Check if it's comfortable and go for it. :)
